Equilibrium offers sauna and ice bath contrast therapy, red light therapy, massage, breathwork, wellness consultations and a curated retail space selling selected wellness products. We also have a toilet inside Equilibrium, with additional toilet facilities available on Groves Yard. Please do not use the yard toilets while wearing wet swimwear.
Please arrive around 10 minutes before your appointment so you can check in, use the toilet if needed and start your session without rushing.
For sauna and ice bath sessions, bring swimwear, two towels, sliders or flip-flops, a non-glass water bottle and dry clothes for afterwards. For red light therapy, massage and breathwork, wear comfortable clothing unless we advise otherwise.
Yes. The sauna and ice unit has private changing space and lockers. Please remember your booked session time includes changing before and after your session.
Contrast therapy means moving between heat and cold exposure. At Equilibrium, this usually means sauna followed by a cold plunge or cold shower.
Signature Sessions accommodate up to 6 sauna guests. Exclusive Sessions can accommodate up to 8. Ice baths are used by one person at a time. The minimum age is 16, and guests aged 16 or 17 must attend with a responsible adult on a 1:1 basis.
Not necessarily, but sauna and cold exposure are not suitable for everyone. Please read Health & Safety before booking and seek medical advice if you have any health concerns.
Sessions are 60 minutes, including changing time. Please be ready to finish, dry and change within your booked time so the next session can start smoothly.
Arrive well hydrated, avoid alcohol, avoid arriving straight after a heavy meal and shower before entering the sauna. We do not have hot showers on site.
Yes. You can start with the cold shower, keep cold exposure short and build confidence over time. You do not need to use the full cold plunge.
Yes. You are welcome to use the sauna without using the ice bath.
Listen to your body. As a guide, use the sauna for 5-15 minutes, up to a maximum of 20 minutes, and the ice bath for 1-2 minutes, up to a maximum of 5 minutes. Allow time to acclimatise between heat and cold.
Rehydrate, warm up gradually and give your body time to settle before driving or starting intense activity.
Please read Sauna & Ice Etiquette before attending. It explains swimwear, towels, phones, calm conduct and how to use the space respectfully.
Red light therapy uses red and near-infrared light in a calm, non-invasive wellness session. It does not use UV light and is often used to support recovery, relaxation, skin vitality and general wellbeing.
You lie centrally on the bed and relax while the light reaches the body. You may feel gentle warmth, but the session should not feel hot, painful or uncomfortable.
Appointments last 30 minutes, including up to 25 minutes on the red light therapy bed.
Red light therapy may support skin vitality, muscle recovery, joint and soft tissue comfort, relaxation and post-exercise recovery. Results vary and it should not be treated as medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Red light works best when it can reach the skin directly. You may wear underwear, swimwear or nothing, depending on your comfort level. Your privacy will always be respected.
Arrive with clean, dry skin and avoid applying oils, heavy creams or products immediately beforehand. Stay hydrated before and after your session.
For general wellbeing, 2-3 sessions per week can be a useful starting point. For more focused routines, some people choose 3-5 sessions per week over several weeks. Consistency matters and results vary.
No. Please read Health & Safety before booking and seek medical advice if you are pregnant, light-sensitive, taking photosensitising medication, have epilepsy, an eye condition, active cancer, suspicious skin lesions, open wounds or a severe skin condition.
Yes. Protective goggles should be worn and you should not look directly into the lights. Goggles are available at Equilibrium.
We offer massage and breathwork to support relaxation, recovery, mobility, stress management and general wellbeing. They can be booked alone or alongside sauna, ice bath and red light therapy.
Massage appointments are 60 minutes, including a short check-in so your therapist can understand your needs and tailor the treatment.
Your therapist will ask about tension, discomfort, injuries or sensitivities, then tailor the treatment to your goals. You will be appropriately covered throughout and can ask for pressure or focus areas to be adjusted at any time.
No separate consultation is needed. A short health and needs check takes place at the start. If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or injury, or have a medical condition, please contact us before booking.
For most people, massage works best after contrast therapy. Sauna and ice can help you decompress before treatment. Please allow time to cool down, shower and hydrate first.
Yes. Massage can be booked as a standalone appointment.
Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to change in and out of. You do not need to bring anything specific unless we advise otherwise.
Breathwork is a guided practice using simple breathing techniques to support relaxation, focus, nervous system regulation and recovery. Sessions may be seated or lying down.
Yes. No experience is needed. If you are pregnant, have a heart or respiratory condition, experience fainting, panic attacks or seizures, or are unsure whether breathwork is suitable, please contact us before booking.

By booking and attending, you confirm that you are fit to take part, have disclosed relevant health concerns, have completed any required waiver or health declaration, and will follow staff guidance.
Seek advice from your GP, consultant, midwife, pharmacist or another qualified healthcare professional if you have a medical condition, are under medical care, take medication, have recently had surgery or an injury, are pregnant or trying to conceive, have implants or devices, or are unsure whether heat, cold, light therapy, massage or breathwork is suitable for you.

Do not use sauna, ice bath or contrast therapy unless your GP or consultant has confirmed it is suitable. This includes a history of heart attack, stroke, angina, heart failure, arrhythmia, circulatory disease, pacemaker, defibrillator or any cardiovascular condition.

Check with your GP, pharmacist or prescribing clinician if your medication affects blood pressure, heart rate, circulation, hydration, alertness, temperature regulation, light sensitivity or your response to heat and cold.
Red light therapy does not use UV light, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Seek medical advice if you are pregnant, light-sensitive, have epilepsy, an eye condition, active or suspected cancer, suspicious skin lesions, active skin infection, recent skin treatment, open wounds or take medication that increases light sensitivity.
